Two Victories For 'The Bufalo'

Landini’s Bufalo 3000 notches up the 2005 Italian Championship and Italy’s Tractor Cup.
Pro Stock Championship’s efforts to raise the profile of tractor-pulling events brought great results. The Italian Championship attracted on average over 5000 spectators to each individual race. The Moretti team’s dedication to optimal performance from man and machine paid off when driver Elvio Moretti got the Bufalo away to a good start, winning the first three races at Fiano Romano (RM), Lendinara (RO) and Marene (CN). On June 12, the Bufalo achieved second placing at Pezzolo di Russi (RA) after a bitter struggle with White Angel, driven by Bruno Pizzacchera, chairman of TPI. Events repeated themselves at the night race held at Fuime Veneto on June 25.
On July 9 at S. Prospero (MO), Moretti had a promising start but some recent modifications to the engine cost the Bufalo fourth place, though they maintained 1st place in the overall championship.
July 23 saw them at Savignano sul Rubicone (FC) for fourth place but at Gonzaga (MN) on September 3, things took a turn for the worse when an accident had the Bufalo looking more like Kangaroo as it hurtled into a series of unfortunate circumstances.
Successive races saw Elvio Moretti and the improved Bufalo outrun rival tractors by 20 metres and the 2005 Italian Championship was in the bag for Landini Bufalo 3000!
To top it all, in Novellara, only a few kilometres from the Landini base, Bufalo 3000 roared home to win Italy’s Tractor Cup – a premier tractor-pulling award.
The Bufalo 3000 – a machine far greater than the sum of its parts.
Two great victories that underscore the perfect synergy between the reliability of Landini’s Bufalo 3000, the singular performance of the Perkins engine, and the inspired, highly professional work of the Moretti racing team.
Things are looking good for 2006, when Bufalo races in Lubersac, France, for the Absolute Championship of Europe.
