Justin WhitfordCEO - PFG Australia

As global demand intensifies, the impacts on the agriculture industry in the supply of core food staples - in addition to essential lifestyle products for both established and emerging markets - has reinforced PFG Australia’s quest to further strengthen partnerships with existing global leaders. Simultaneously, we continue to identify opportunities to diversify into other important and new targeted industries.

Increased international competition, in addition to political instability, is driving the demand for greater innovation in customer experience and product performance. An agile approach is essential in managing the changing face of international and domestic policy, whilst trading and logistics landscapes have never been more challenging.

At PFG Australia, our investment in our people to continue leading the industry through thought provoking customer centric innovation is a key pillar of our continued success.

The expansion of our national assembly, production, and parts distribution footprint through the acquisition of a new site in Queensland, as well as the further development of our Head Office facilities in Derrimut, Victoria, highlights our commitment to our industry, our market, and our dealer partners.

We remain committed to delivering the most comprehensive “Whole of Life” customer and dealer experience with an underlying promise of partnership. We are in it, together! Our service platform begins with a Customer Care team dedicated to service excellence, in place to support the agricultural industry, through to one of Australia’s largest and ever-expanding National Dealer networks.

Comprising the broadest range of leading international tractor and machinery brands, PFG Australia enjoys long-standing relationships and distribution rights with renowned suppliers. These include the premium German made Deutz-Fahr tractors, to the innovative Korean built Kioti portfolio, the powerhouse North American big tractor specialist Versatile, through to the French grape harvesting leaders of Gregoire.

Our machinery offering also provides access to world leading brands that specialise in key agriculture segments, all with a focus on and commitment to their customers. Renowned manufacturers such as McHale, Howard, SAM, Aitchison, Bad Boy, Vicon, Kverneland, Maschio Gaspardo, Jaylor and Quicke ensure our customers purchase with absolute confidence.

Our product and service flexibility, through to our unique ability to deliver bespoke farming and grounds care solutions, ensure all customers, from private hobby farmers to the largest of commercial groups, metro grounds care specialists to local councils and government, have the assurance that when they need us most, we will be there.

PFG Australia – a commitment to partnership.

A PARTNERSHIP IN YOUR FUTURE

PFG Australia is the nation’s largest independent supplier of agricultural machinery and equipment, led by a team that is fully committed to our customers, dealers and suppliers.

Our culture is driven by the same values instilled in our organisation since its inception by Laurie Maber in 1946 in Morrinsville, New Zealand. Such values position the Power Farming Group as a preferred partner to dealers, farmers, corporate organisations and councils across the country.

A partnership with PFG Australia is a partnership in your future.

OUR PURPOSE

PFG is an independent agricultural, construction and machinery distributor.

Substantial in footprint yet agile in operation, we source, distribute, service and support a range of products from some of the world’s leading manufacturers.

We are here for customers – agricultural, municipal and residential.

OUR PERFORMANCE

- The story of PFG Australia is one of consistent enterprise and expansion
- Our exclusive distribution rights have grown from two brands in 2000 to 15 brands in 2023
- A modest dealer presence on the eastern seaboard has now expanded to a truly national network, encompassing 300+ dealers across Australia
- Since PFG Australia’s formation, staff numbers have risen from six to more than 120
- From small premises in Melbourne’s west, PFG Australia now owns a multi-purpose corporate, assembly and training base in Derrimut, VIC and a purpose built assembly and distribution hub in Yatala, QLD.
- Our distribution footprint has grown from two tractor brands to encompass many of the world’s leading machinery, viticulture, parts, feed mixer, mower and loader manufacturers.

OUR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Our approach is long-standing and based on need, connections and being adaptable to changing circumstances. PFG’s connection with Very Special Kids is one of many. Likewise, the farms and districts so affected by the Black Summer bushfires of 2019-20 with whom we sided during our ‘Fire Relief 2020’ campaign.

More recently, PFG Australia has forged a deep connection with the Children’s Cancer Foundation, with our leadership team directly involved in strategic fundraising and awareness activities.

We also recognise the unheralded community work done behind the scenes by many of our staff, likewise untold dealer principals and their teams across the country. Such involvement includes sponsorship and mentoring, as well as board and administrative roles in community service bodies.

A PROUD HISTORY

‘Our history has been enriched by a culture that can only be nurtured by a family owned business. It is this unique position and our passion in delivering the most engaged customer experience in the Australian, New Zealand and American agriculture industries that defines our history and shapes our future.’

NATIONAL DEALER NETWORK

With coverage across metro, regional centres, towns and rural areas, our National Dealer Network extends the length and breadth of the country. Our dealers service the most diverse farming footprint, from cane fields in northern Queensland to orchards in Tasmania, from wheat growers in the west to lifestyle farmers in the east.

The environment, vast distances and ever-changing conditions, seasonal or otherwise, demand a dealer network capability and coverage that assures our customers that when they need us most, we’ll be there.

To this end, PFG Australia backs a National Dealer Network of around 300 dealerships across 15 brands. Continual investment in the network includes scheduled training programs, marketing and media support, access to the latest

parts and repair technology, all supported by our dedicated class-leading dealer App, which even enables us to find solutions for dealers in the field.

Such investment ensures a knowledge base that delivers optimised product capabilities and expertise in repair requirements.

We are committed to the ongoing expansion, continual support and improvement of the network. This commitment involves a personalised approach – and active partnership. We believe it delivers our customers an efficient, engaging and flexible sales and service support experience.

I have been associated with PFG now for the last 5 years. Over the journey, with the assistance and support from PFG and its various departments, we have grown our business to the point where we were able to relocate into a purpose built, state-of-the-art showroom and workshop. It has also given us the ability to increase our staff from 3 people to 11 in that time.

It makes me proud that together we can service our agricultural community and we can rely on PFG to assist us with a great range of agricultural machinery, professional support of well-trained service technicians and technical advisers, as well as great service through their spare parts department.

PFG and all their employees go above, beyond, and nothing is ever a problem. Working with PFG is like being part of their family and it feels very much like a partnership striving towards a common goal!
